During the past summer, I visited the semi-tropical island of Jeju-do, south of the Korean mainland. I enjoyed the trip and found Jeju-do a lovely little place, filled with plenty of things to see and do. I noticed that the air is a lot cleaner and clearer than even here in Suncheon. I’d imagine the prevailing winds and relative lack of industry has a fair bit to do with that.

Jeju - formed as a result of a series of large volcanic eruptions – contains many impressive natural features for such a small place, just 1,845 sq. km. The island contains UNESCO-recognized lava tubes, stunning beaches, and a picturesque hinterland filled with hundreds of tourist attractions, big and small. Koreans talk up Jeju to be something out of this world, and the place just about fulfils the expectations. Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the region. Below are a few pics of the trip with the Jeju-do albums located here and here.
